What are the technician qualifications for inspecting, testing and maintenance of fire alarm systems?

Technicians performing inspections, testing, and maintenance on fire alarm systems are required to have certification, license, and/or training. The following are a few examples of qualifications: factory trained and certified, National institute for certification in engineering technologies (NICET) fire alarm certified, international municipal signal association (IMSA) fire alarm certified and certified by a state or local authority.
