When is an ILSM assessment required?

An ILSM assessment is required any time a life safety deficiency is identified, either through routine inspection, testing, or maintenance, or during construction or renovation projects. If the deficiency poses more than a minimal impact to life safety, a full ILSM assessment is conducted to determine what temporary safety measures should be put in place.
